A robot that can change shape could be heading to Mars one day

NASA focuses more on interplanetary missions, such as those to Mars. These highly ambitious journeys will require robot equipment to help astronauts perform a variety of tasks.

A team of researchers from the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne in Switzerland has developed a robot called Mori3 capable of changing size, shape and function. It can morph from 2D triangular shapes into nearly any 3D object. In the video below, you can see Mori3 in action.
