Robots are not a new invention. Robots are not new. They help us build cars, clean our floors, process our ecommerce orders and even perform surgeries. The sci-fi dream of a humanoid general-purpose robot is getting closer.
Despite the rapid improvement in disembodied artificial intelligent in recent years, many robots remain relatively dumb. They are mostly used for specialized tasks, their environments are controlled and they’re not very autonomous.
It’s difficult for AI to operate in the messy, uncertain world of real life. As impressive as recent large language models are, they only deal with a limited set of data types.
