Drugs for age-related diseases
Recent biochemical research has focused on sirtuin 6, an enzyme that is involved in the age-related disease of humans. Sirt6 activation could be used to prevent or reduce such diseases. Biochemists at the University of Bayreuth published a paper in the journal Nature Chemical Biology that explains how the small molecule MDL-801 interacts with the enzyme Sirt6 to influence its activity. These findings will help in the development of new medicines.
