ElevenLabs is a year-old AI company that was founded by former Google and Palantir staff. It focuses on developing new text-to speech and voice-cloning tools. The round, led by Andreessen Horowitz, included former Github CEO Nat Friedman, former Apple AI leader Daniel Gross and Credo Ventures. Other strategic investors include Instagram co-founder Mike Krieger and Oculus VR’s Brendan Iribe.

Andreessen Horowitz will also join ElevenLabs’ board. In a blog post about the news, it cites the \”I Have a Dream\”, speech of late Martin Luther King Jr. as an example of how \”the human voice carries not just our ideas, but the most profound feelings and connections.\”
