Students’ future in question after lecturer fails entire class for using ChatGPT
According to RollingStone, and other news outlets, a group of students at Texas A&M University-Commerce’s graduations is in question after being accused of using ChatGPT for their essays.
A Texas A&M University Commerce professor took drastic measures to fail his entire class after suspecting that they were using ChatGPT for their writing. The decision has delayed their graduation. RollingStone reports that the professor Dr. Jard mumm made a bad decision, as he used natural language processing software in order to analyze and determine whether the essay was generated.

The professor wrote, \”I copy-paste your answers in [ChatGPT] and [it] tells me if [the program] generated the content,\” in an email. He continued to state that he tested each paper two times. Dr. Mumm offered the class an assignment to make up for the failed grade, which would otherwise threaten their graduation.
