Tesla will license FSD technology to other OEMs and allow the transfer of FSD into new cars
Tesla CEO Elon M Musk confirmed on Wednesday that Tesla is \”in discussions with major OEMs regarding using Tesla FSD.\”
Tesla Full Self-Driving, the beta version of its advanced driving assistance system, can automate driving on highways or urban streets. Tesla’s hardware and software suite is required for other automakers to adopt FSD. Tesla’s ADAS and, ultimately, autonomy is based on the use of computer vision processing or cameras rather than a variety of sensors such as lidar and radar.
Musk said that Tesla would allow the FSD software transfer to new cars, but only during the third quarter.
