Patients with cardiac catheterization who intermittently fast live longer
Intermittent Fasting, while it may sound like a new diet craze to some, has been shown to have positive health effects.
Researchers at the Intermountain Healthcare Heart Institute, Salt Lake City have discovered that patients undergoing cardiac catheterization who regularly practiced intermittent fasting live longer than those who do not. The study also found that those who practiced intermittent fasting were less likely to develop heart failure.
It’s yet another example that we are finding that regular fasting can lead better health outcomes and a longer life,\” said Benjamin Horne Ph.D. principal investigator of the research and director of cardiovascular genetic epidemiology and the Intermountain Healthcare Heart Institute.
