The Benefits of Staying Hydrated: How Drinking Water May Prolong Life and Promote Healthy Aging

Scientists have discovered a link between drinking water and ageing

Proper hydration can slow down the aging process and prolong life without disease.

Drinking water is good for your health. It is important to keep the skin moist, as well as contributing to metabolism. According to a new study by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), drinking water can also help people age in a healthy manner.

Researchers examined the relationship between a number of health markers and the blood sodium levels that rise as fluid intake decreases. The study collected health data from 11,255 participants for a period of 30 years.

The researchers found that adults with higher serum sodium levels were more susceptible to chronic illness and exhibited symptoms of biological aging. Adults with higher sodium levels were at a greater risk of dying earlier.
