Many people believe that patient-paid clinical trials are unethical. They say it’s not ethical to ask patients to pay for participation in trials. These trials, while controversial, are a valid way to test treatments that otherwise would not be able to reach clinics due to financial constraints. The data collected by these trials can also still be valuable.
