Maverick Life – Who wants to live forever? The immortal hydra has already done so
What are we made of? What is our composition? What is matter? What is matter? In Liquid Science, a show on Red Bull TV about science and imagination, American rapper GZA of Wu-Tang Clan asks, \”Is the body just an object with an expiration?\” GZA’s quest to \”understand the human desire to survive forever\” is at the heart of this episode.
It’s not new to try to answer such questions. In an article for the Washington Post entitled ”Transhumanist eternal life? Arthur C Brooks says, ‘No thanks, I would rather learn to not fear death.’ He explains that in the 5th century before Christ Greek historian Herodotus described \”a people of northern Africa, who according to local legend, never appeared to age.\”
Humanity has always been fascinated by the idea of immortality and eternal youth, but finding these things has not been easy. Until now.
