The Immortalists Club: Two perspectives on the future of artificial general intelligence

The Immortalists Club

Dinorah Delfin’s Immortalist Magazine has released another outstanding edition. The dueling articles about the future of Artificial General Intelligence are one of the highlights.

Daniel Faggella creates yet another bleak, dreary and depressing destruction of the hope for an artificial general intelligence that is benevolent. Depressing is the word of choice. He creates a beautiful series of logic roadblocks that prevent any hope for a future where there will be a compassionate general artificial intelligence. He seems to be making a case against something that no one believes. He argues that it is not certain that a general artificial intelligence will be good. This is a perspective that most intelligent humanoids will agree with. In his strongest and concluding rebuttal, he makes it clear that no one can predict the future.

No one wants absolute certainty for the future. Transhumanists are generally looking for a way to live a life full of superhappiness and superintelligence, as well as superlongevity.
