Westworld’s debut season focused primarily on the abuses of artificial life. This was because the hosts’ primary purpose revolved almost exclusively around sex and violence. Dolores, and those like her, were fighting for simple consciousness – a right to own memories and self awareness. Westworld’s second series has taken that quest in all sorts of interesting directions. But \”The Riddle of the Sphinx\”, the fourth episode, was the first one to tackle the question: Isn’t artificial intelligence the key for immortality?
