The Road to Human 2.0
The medical world will experience some major breakthroughs in the 2020s. We will be able to restore memories through brain implants.
In the 2020s, we will have the computing power to create the first human brain simulation. The exponential growth of computation and data makes it possible to create accurate models of all parts of the brain, including its 100 billion neuronal connections.
In 2019, a prototype of a human heart was printed 3D. By mid-2020s, 3D-printing of major organs in the human body will be possible. In the next decade, more and more organs of the 78 in the human body can be printed.
As we enter the next few decades we will have technologies that give us the chance of immortality.
Our ability to 3D-print new organs, to use nanotechnology to fight death at the cellular level, to use CRISPR, or other gene editing technology, to redefine our definition of human beings and to even capture and extend consciousness beyond the limits of our biological weakness, may bring us closer to immortality, as shown in Michelangelo’s painting.
The race for human 2.0 is divided into two broad spectrums: the evolution our bodies and our evolution our minds.
