The New Senescent Cell Database
Today, we want to spotlight a new publication that charts the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP), which consists of the various secreted signals given out by senescent cells during aging.
SASP and senescent cells
As we age, more and more of our cells are in a condition known as senescence. The cells stop dividing, and instead secrete harmful chemicals. This cocktail of harmful signals is known as the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP).
