Scientists: the human brain has strange similarities to the entire universe
The room was filled with an astrophysicist, and a neurosurgeon.
The structures of the observable Universe, according to a group Italian academics, are strikingly similar with the neural networks in the human brain.
According to a study published in Frontiers in Physics by University of Bologna neurosurgeon Alberto Felletti and University of Bologna’s Franco Vazza, the two researchers found surprising similarities between the network of galaxies in the universe and the intricate web of neurons in our brain. The researchers found that despite the fact that the two are 27 orders of magnitude apart in size, both the human brain’s structure and the galaxy web have similar levels of self-organization and complexity.
