AI could be used to design future Toyota vehicles
Machine learning is allowing many industries to discover new ways to solve problems. Many companies in the automotive industry are already using AI to perform different tasks as part of their research and development divisions. Toyota has announced that it will begin researching AI-based car designs thanks to the generative artificial intelligence developed by Toyota Research Institute (TRI).
You don’t need to worry, your next Tacoma won’t be designed entirely by AI. Toyota will use this technology during the early stages of design, when different iterations are required for engineering purposes. If the automaker wants to create a large two-door coupé, they could use AI to create a variety of designs using preset parameters.
