Uncovering well-being through wearable AI: Assessing resilience with effortless data collection

Wearable devices could capture data on well-being using AI.

According to researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine in Mount Sinai, New York, applying machine learning models – a form of artificial intelligence – to passively collected data from wearable devices could identify a patient’s level of resilience and wellbeing.

The findings reported in JAMIA Open’s May 2 issue support the use of wearable devices such as Apple Watch to remotely monitor and assess psychological conditions without requiring mental health questionnaires.

The paper titled \”A Machine Learning Approach to Determine Resilience Utilizing Wearable Device Data: Analysis of an Observational Cohort\” points out that the ability to overcome difficulties is an important stress reducer, as well as a way to improve chronic disease management.
