The Dog Aging Project will study the longevity of 60,000 puppies
Our furry friends will soon have new solutions to the age-old problem of longevity.
The Dog Aging Project, launched in 2018, recruits tens and thousands of faithful canine companions to participate in a comprehensive research. The collaborative open-source project is expected to last for ten years and has ambitious goals. It will tackle the difficult problem of aging and test ways to extend healthy longevity.
The project is unique in its size, as it’s the biggest data collection program of its type. It also stands out because it does not use lab animals that are grown in controlled environments and are often inbred. DAP recruits dogs from all over the country. They come in a variety of breeds and ages.
