Synthetic biology platform to control stress-related aging
Integrated Biosciences combines synthetic biology with machine learning in order to combat aging. In collaboration with researchers from the University of California Santa Barbara they have developed a platform for drug discovery that allows precise control of integrated stress response.
The Cell Systems cover features a new publication entitled \”Optogenetic Control of the Integrated Stress Response reveals Proportional Encoding and the Stress Memory Landscape\” by the company’s founders. This article describes a method that activates the ISR using light. It also demonstrates how stress accumulation over time changes a cell’s response from adaptation to apoptosis.
Maxwell Wilson, Ph.D. is a cofounder of Integrated Biosciences and an Assistant Professor of Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology, University of California Santa Barbara.
