Revolutionary sensor mimics human eye for vivid images
Researchers have developed a device to mimic the ability of the human eye to see colors by using narrowband photodetectors, a neuromorphic algorithms and a perovskite-based algorithm.
The photodetectors are sensitive to red green and blue light. They mimic our cone-cells, while the neural algorithm simulates our brain to transform information into high quality images. This technology, unlike modern cameras which require external filters to improve resolution and reduce costs, could be used in place of those.
This device can also be used to generate electricity by absorbing light.
