Unlocking the key to longevity: Identification of a Novel Antiaging Protein

New research shows that a protein called ‘anti-ageing’, which slows cell growth, is crucial to longevity.

The average human life expectancy is higher than ever. Along with this increase in life expectancy, age-related illnesses such as dementia and cancer are on the rise.

Understanding the biology of aging, and the genes and proteins that are involved in this process, will allow us to increase our \”healthspan\”, the period during which people can remain healthy and productive, free from age-related illnesses.

In a recent research, our team discovered a novel antiaging protein called Gaf1. Gaf1 regulates protein metabolism. This process has been linked to ageing and diseases. Without Gaf1, we also discovered that cells live shorter lives.
