Gut microbiome is linked to healthy aging and longevity
The gut microbiome plays an important role in human aging, but the exact nature of its contribution is not known. Researchers at ISB and their collaborators identified distinct signatures within the gut microbiome which are associated with healthy or unhealthy aging trajectory. These signatures predict survival among a population older individuals. This work will be published in Nature Metabolism.
