AI’s new contribution to nutrition science: Ultra-processed Foods
Researchers have developed an algorithm capable of predicting food processing levels.
The tool rates foods from zero (minimally processed or unprocessed), to 100 (highly, ultra-processed). FoodProX fills in gaps of existing databases by providing a higher resolution analysis for processed foods.
This is an important development for researchers who are examining the impact of processed food on health.
