Drug discovery is a time-consuming and expensive task. Machine learning, a form of artificial intelligence, can speed up the process at a fraction the cost.
Recently, my colleagues and I used this technology to find promising candidates for senolytics – drugs that prevent age-related disease and slow down ageing.
Senolytics kill senescent cells. They are called zombie cells because they are still \”alive\”, but no longer able to reproduce.
