A new cause of cell ageing has been discovered
The USC Viterbi School of Engineering’s new research could help us better understand the aging process. These findings could pave the path for new cancer treatments and drugs that can improve health in our twilight decades.
Recently, the Journal of Biological Chemistry published a paper by Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering & Materials Science Nick Graham, his team, Scott Fraser, Professor of Biological Sciences & Biomedical Engineering and Pin Wang (Zohrab A. Kaprielian Fellowship in Engineering).
Graham explained that to drink from the Fountain of Youth, one must first find it and know what it does. \”We are doing the opposite. We’re trying study the reasons why cells age so that we can design treatments to improve aging.\”
