World’s first bladder transplant to be performed by human and robot surgeons

The first bladder transplant in the world will be performed both by human and robotic surgeons

First time in history, doctors are using robots to perform a bladder transplant from a dead person onto a living patient.

A team of urologists from Keck Medicine of University of South California is currently conducting a trial which will lead to the first bladder transplant surgery in humans. The doctors are in the process now of selecting patients for their trials.

Millions of people with bladder disorders around the world would be helped if such an operation was successful.
