YouthBio Therapeutics Unlocks the Potential of Partial reprogramming for Epigenetic Renewal

YouthBio Therapeutics: A new epigenetic rejuvenation startup emerges from stealth

Seattle-based YouthBio Therapeutics, a longevity biotech, has come out of stealth mode. The company is developing \”gene therapy aimed at epigenetic revitalization, especially with the help by partial reprogramming of Yamanaka factors.\” Dr Joao de Magalhaes serves as the chief scientific officer, and Dr Alejandro Ocampo is the lead research collaborator.

Longevity. Technology: Cellular Reprogramming is Hot, Hot, HOT! YouthBio is joining a growing number of companies including Altos Labs and Shift Bioscience, as well as Turn Bio. All of these companies are aiming to transform the future of human health by using this exciting science, which is still in its early stages. We’ll be closely watching the progress of all players, including Altos Labs, Shift Bioscience and Turn Bio.

Cellular reprogramming refers to the process of returning aged cells to an embryonic-like state. The Yamanaka factor can also be used to improve the aging characteristics of cells. Partial reprogramming is when Yamanaka factors can be induced for short periods of time. This is not enough to completely change the cells past a point where there is no return, but it is enough to instigate rejuvenation.
