YouTube introduces AI-powered dubbing tools
YouTube announced at VidCon that it is testing a tool to help creators dub videos automatically into other languages. YouTube has partnered with Aloud’s AI-powered dubbing services, part of Google Area 120.
YouTube added support for multi-language tracks earlier this year. This allows creators of new and existing videos to add dubbing, reaching a larger international audience. TechCrunch reported that as of June 2023 creators had dubbed over 10,000 videos in more than 70 languages.
Prior to Aloud, creators were required to work directly with dubbing companies to create audio tracks. This can be an expensive and time-consuming process. Aloud allows them to dub videos for no extra cost.
